Thanks for teaching me a new word through this series! I've always called limerence 'new relationship energy.' I've been in open relationships and a lot of people choose them because you get the stability of your 'nesting' partner and the limerence from new partners. If done successfully, the new relationship energy can also positively energize the nesting partner relationship. I totally agree with your bottom line here, though. 'The person who awakens you isn’t always the one meant to walk beside you.'

I heard this word in 2023. It sparked so interest on the types of infatuations and attachments

Thank you, Jessica! I was feeling like this one was a flop, so thank you so much for commenting and restacking! I have other posts on limerence that I spent more time on that are very interesting!

I came across it in early 2022. It changed my life. I always knew my crushes were different, but I didn't have a framework for it.

Ok, weird question: but how do you deal with reading comprehension? Kudos to you cause I could never read psychology papers and understand a single word; I'd already be falling asleep. (That's why I hate the SAT science article sections). Love this new, original content about couples, and thanks for summarizing it, so I don't have to read a psychology paper and start snoozing!

One strategy is to try to scan the document fast and summarize the high level ideas first. You want to keep your eyes moving fast.

I usually just have ChatGPT summarize. My attention span is weak unless the thing I’m reading really interests me. I can do audiobooks though.
